IGNOU Assignments Status 2023
For all IGNOU students under distance education mode, writing assignments are compulsory. IGNOU has made it compulsory for all students under open and distance learning to submit completed assignments well in time to the study centres for writing the term-end examination. It is not possible to complete a course without submitting the assignments.
Basically, when you heard the term “ IGNOU Assignments ” the first thing that should click in your mind is the questions whose answers you have to write on the sheet that you may find from the IGNOU Books/ Study Material that is provided to you. IGNOU Assignment carries 30% marks of each course and 70% of the marks belong to the Term End Exam (TEE).
How To Check IGNOU Assignments Submission Status
Note: IGNOU Assignment status may take some time to get updated online so candidates are requested to keep check their status regularly to find their assignment marks from here. In some cases, the study centre first evaluates the assignment, after evaluation, they send the marks to the regional centre and then the concerned authority at RC uploads the marks online which definitely takes some time.
How to Write the IGNOU Assignments?
The students must write and submit the Assignments of a particular course under IGNOU University on or before the last date and Term End Exam (TEE). You will not be allowed to sit in the TEE exam if you haven’t submitted the Assignments.
The first thing comes how to get the questions for IGNOU Assignments and for that you have to visit the official website to download the IGNOU Assignment Question i.e. www.ignou.ac.in and then click on “ Student Zone ” à Search for the particular course name and then click on that to get the questions.
Candidates are required to write the answers on plain paper (A4 size) and wherever necessary draw diagrams. Candidates may find the IGNOU Assignment Answerwers from the books provided by IGNOU. You may even get the Assignment Questions from the IGNOU Study Centre / Regional Centre nearby you.
Where you will find your Assignment Questions
The assignment questions are sent to the regional centres or to the study centres by the headquarters. Students are advised to collect the assignment question booklets from the respective regional centre or they can have them from the internet on the ignou website.
Are assignment questions remain the same for all consecutive years:
I say No. Assignment questions are not been the same for years. Sometimes the assignment questions are the same for two consecutive sessions. Students must be knowing that IGNOU distance mode learning has got two sessions, January and July sessions. As mentioned, assignment questions for these two sessions remain the same, though it is not true always. I advise students to check the validity of the assignment questions as mentioned on the assignment questions.
How to write the Assignments
Write the answers on plain paper in your own handwriting. Do not type the answers. Bind the pages for a particular course and write your details like name, programme, course, enrolment number etc on the front page. Do the same for all remaining courses. If it is of multiple choice type, tick the correct answer only.
Where to submit the Assignment
Once you are finished with the Assignments of the particular Programme, you are required to submit them at the assigned IGNOU Study Centre / Regional Centre on or before the last date.
Note:- The last date to submit the assignment is mentioned in the assignment . Students must submit well-written assignments to the respective study centre.
What is the proof that you have submitted the Assignments
Obtain a receipt from the study centre and fill in the details. Collect student copy part of the receipt for your future reference. Produce it whenever necessary to prove that you have submitted the assignments. Students can also check the latest update on their assignment marks on the ignou website under the grade card.

Can I submit the Assignment after TEE (Term End Examination)?
- No, you can’t submit the Assignments of the particular pursuing course after the TEE (Term End Examination). You are required to submit it before the start of the Term End Examination.

How Long it may take to reflect the Trasmitted Assignment Marks in IGNOU Grade Card Online ?
It may take approximately 30 days to get updated in the online Grade Card after the online transmission by your IGNOU Study Center/Regional Center.
Large number of students are getting confused about checking their assignment status & marks online after submission of their assignments to the study centre which they prepare diligently. We have made the process easier for students to find their assignment status, marks & results in single centralized place. What is the Meaning of different Status message in IGNOU Assignment Submission status ?
There are 3 types of messages which reflects under “Status” Column.
What are the reasons for Non updation of Assignment Marks in Online Grade card ?
There are some cases when Assignment grades are not reflected in Online IGNOU Grade Card even if it is forwarded by Study Center and it appears in intermediate status of assignment portal with the status “ Check Grade Card Status for detail” .
Reason 1 : The first possible reason for such cases is, student may have submitted the assignment to the Study Center before their due session and without completing minimum duration of study.
Example : Student of Jan 2021 admission Cycle (MEG which is Year based) is eligible to submit assignment in Sept / October 2021 – for TEE DEC 2021 Session. If such student submits assignment for TEE June 2021session then data of such student will not be updated on the grade card. In such case student need to contact study center or Regional center for further guidance.
Reason 2 : The Second possible reason for such cases is, Student submit the assignment to the Study Center after their maximum validity of Admission.
This is the sole responsibility of students to submit the assignment in correct session and after completion of minimum duration and before the maximum Admission Validity or else marks will not be updated in the grade card.

When Can I Check my IGNOU Assignment / Practical / Project submission status ?
The status of assignment submitted for TEE June Cycle/Session starts reflecting on the website from June/July month. Similarly the status of assignment submitted for TEE December Cycle/Session starts reflecting on the website from December/January month.

Any discrepancy, such as course code error etc, in your assignment submission status, you may bring to the notice of Co-ordinator OR functionaries of study center for immediate resolution.

About IGNOU Assignment Status 2023

Select ‘My Assignment’ from the Menu.
Once you’re on the Student Zone page, click on “My Assignment” from the Menu. IGNOU TEE Assignment Marks
TEE Assignment Marks will be given as the students will work on the topics given to them by the Study Centers or they have also given the option to download from the IGNOU Portal. It is mandatory to submit the assignment on the given dates. Otherwise, student assignments will not be accepted. They will get marks only after submitting their assignments to their respective teachers.
Assignments make up 30% of the total weightage you get in the exam. The rest is a theory and practical exam. Assignment marks are given by teachers and also uploaded on the portal for students to check. They need to log in and check from the official website after uploading.

IGNOU Project Result 2023
Assignment results will be uploaded by IGNOU officials. Assignments on the site are provided in both Hindi and English languages. Sometimes your status is updated even after submission, wait for a few days, then contact your nearest study center. Assignment results may take time to upload. After checking and evaluating the assignments, the marks are sent to the regional centers and then uploaded to the portal for students.

How to Submit IGNOU Assignment?
IGNOU Assignment Submission Methods 2023 – Now, Due to the lockdown and other pandemic-related regulations, the university has not just extended the assignment submission date but has also provided a new way of submitting the assignments. The students now can also submit their assignments online if they are not able to visit their respective centers.
As per the regular schedule of the IGNOU Assignment submission, the university going to accept the IGNOU Assignment for the Term-end examination June 2023 till 31st March 2023 so the students can submit their assignments latest by 31st March 2023 to get eligible to appear in the upcoming TEE June 2023. It is also noted that the given last date is subjected to change or extension that should not be treated as the final date of submission.
So, now there are three different ways how the students can submit the assignments based on their convenience.
- IGNOU Assignment 2023 (Last Date)
- IGNOU Assignment Status 2023 (UPDATED)
- IGNOU Project 2023 (Online Submission)
Through Offline Mode
This is the usual way through which the students usually submit the assignments. The students have to finish answering the questions of the assignments and then submit them to the study center. While preparing the assignments, you should make sure that the very first page of the assignment should have all the necessary details.
- The name of the student
- Enrolment number
- Program and Code code
- Name, Code, and address of the study center where you are submitting the assignment
- Mobile number and email address of the student
- IGNOU Assignment Front Page (PDF)
- IGNOU Study Centre List
If you are submitting the assignments directly through offline mode, the person at the study center will offer you a receipt that you need to keep safe till the result is not declared.
Through Online Mode
For students who are not able to visit the study center to submit the assignments can also submit them online now by following any of these two methods. It is noted that both of the methods are subject to availability at the respective regional centre.
Google Form
The very first method is that of Google Forms. The students can visit the respective regional portals of IGNOU and then submit the assignments. You can follow the below steps for the successful submission of assignments through Google Form.

Step – 1 – First of all, have a look on the list of IGNOU Regional Centres at the Official Website of IGNOU and go to your RC website.
Step – 2 – On the homepage of RC’s official page, go to the section of News and Events.
Step – 3 – You should get the option of Assignment Guidelines or Assignment Submission on which you have to click.
Step – 4 – As you click on the link, the Google form will get open in the browser.
Step – 5 – Now now start filling the form with proper details such as your name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.
Step – 6 – Carefully upload the scanned copy of your assignment and submit the form.
Instructions to Follow
While you are submitting the assignments through Google Form, make sure that you follow these important instructions.
- You have to fill a new form for each subject.
- Make sure that you are uploading the assignment files correctly.
- You need to scan the handwritten copies of the assignments and upload them.
- The scanned copy of assignments should not be more than 100MB.
- You should only submit the PDF format of the scanned copy.
- Though you will be entering the basic details in the Google Form, it is also a great idea to mention the same details on your assignment copy also.
- The option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms will be available only when the quota of email submission is over.
Through Email Address
Though IGNOU has started the option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms, it will be not available in all the regional centers. The option of Google Forms will be only applicable if the email quota of a regional center is over and they are not more able to receive assignment emails from the students.
Here is the method that you need to follow to submit your assignments through email.
Step – 1 – Mention all the important details on the front page of your assignment that you would do in the case of offline submissions such as name, subject name and code, program and course code, study center name and code, contact details, and others.
Step – 2 – Scan your handwritten assignment copy and get it in PDF format. Each subject assignment should be in each PDF copy.
Step – 3 – Find out the email address of your regional center from Google in the same way how you search for the regional center portal link.
Step – 4 – In the body of the email, provide all the details in a listicle format that you have mentioned on the front page of your assignments.
Step – 5 – Now attach the PDF formats of your assignments and send the email to the respective regional center email address.
After you have sent the email, you should receive an acknowledgment. It may take a few hours to get this acknowledgment email. But if you have still not received it, you should check whether the regional portal has shared the link for Google Forms or not and should upload the assignments there too.
It is also noted that the many of the regional centre of IGNOU is not sending any confirmation or acknowledgment after the submission of IGNOU Assignments so you don’t need to worry about it instead of keep checking the status of your assignments to get the result.

Due to the Lockdown all regional centre activities were suspended in all IGNOU RCs. However, IGNOU assignments online Submission facility has taken burden from Many students who were worrying about submission of there assignments on time, However IGNOU also extended last date to submit IGNOU Assignments to 15 December 2020. But amid of nation wise lock down it was a tough task for IGNOU to collect all assignments and checking them on time and also Physical medium of assignment could have increased infection of corona virus. So, ignou is accepting all assignments by Online medium. You need to send soft copy of your assignment to IGNOU regional center’s mail id, Or on google form. in this article, you will know how to submit IGNOU assignments online.

- The *first page of the pdf* of each Course must also carry the learner’s correct details
- You need to write your enrolment number and signature on all pages of your assignments.

If you’re an IGNOU student then You might be trying to know and find out the submission status of your IGNOU assignment. An IGNOU assignment status is the status of assignments that a student has submitted at his study center.

How To Check IGNOU Assignment Status
There are a few ways to check your ignou assignment status . One way is to log into your student account on the IGNOU website. Once you are logged in, you will be able to see your current assignment status. here is a step-by-step way to check the status online
- Go to the important link page .
- Type status in the search box.
- Click on the ‘Check Assignment Status’ link.
- Enter your enrolment number and the course code.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Your assignment status will be displayed on the screen.
Another way to check your IGNOU assignment status is to contact your study center. Received To Be Processed Status
When you logged into the ignou assignment status portal if you see the status as received to be processed. it simply means that your Ignou assignment has been received by the university/study center and is now being evaluated by the teacher. This process can take a few weeks or months, depending on the evaluator or study center. Once your assignments have been evaluated successfully, then the ignou assignment status will be shown as check grade card status for details .

Checking Assignment status in grade Card
Once you’re logged in to the grade card, you’ll be able to see your grade card status. here you will see your assignment marks as well as your theory marks. If there is a problem with your status, you’ll not see your course code there. This could be because you didn’t submit all of the required assignments, or because there was a problem with the grading of your assignments.
Understanding Different status Meaning via table
please remember before checking your IGNOU grade card status for assignment status, that grade cards are usually released about two months after the end of each examination cycle. So, if you’re checking your status for an assignment that was due in June 2022, you won’t be able to see your grade until August 2022 at the earliest.
Non-updating reasons of Assignment Marks
if you find that your Assignment status is not updated on the portal don’t worry. sometimes assignment status gets delayed for many reasons, like the evaluation of assignments being delayed at the study center, or maybe the regional center has not uploaded your assignment marks online.
One possible reason your IGNOU assignment status may not be shown in your grade card is that you submitted it in the wrong session. For example, if you’re in the BAG 2022 January session, then your assignments are due in September 2022. If you submit them in March 2022, they won’t be evaluated and your grade card won’t reflect that.
Another possible reason it could be that the student has written and submitted the wrong assignment. sometimes, IGNOU Students get confused in choosing the correct assignment question paper which they have to write and they mistakenly choose the wrong one and write that, so it can be the other reason for not updating the assignment status, so always download the proper assignment paper
What To Do If IGNOU Assignment Status Not Updated?
If you are not able to find your assignment status or marks even after the release of the TEE Result, you need to connect with the center where you submitted your assignments.
While visiting the study center please keep a copy of the grade card and your id card and the receipt of the assignment which you received while submitting the assignments. After you follow the instructions, they will tell you the proper reason that why your assignment status is not yet updated. The coordinator of the IGNOU Study Centre is usually the best source of information for students regarding their pending assignment marks and status. if your issue is still not resolved then you can contact to your regional center.
