How to Submit IGNOU Assignment?
IGNOU Assignment Submission Methods 2023 – Now, Due to the lockdown and other pandemic-related regulations, the university has not just extended the assignment submission date but has also provided a new way of submitting the assignments. The students now can also submit their assignments online if they are not able to visit their respective centers.
As per the regular schedule of the IGNOU Assignment submission, the university going to accept the IGNOU Assignment for the Term-end examination June 2023 till 31st March 2023 so the students can submit their assignments latest by 31st March 2023 to get eligible to appear in the upcoming TEE June 2023. It is also noted that the given last date is subjected to change or extension that should not be treated as the final date of submission.
So, now there are three different ways how the students can submit the assignments based on their convenience.
- IGNOU Assignment 2023 (Last Date)
- IGNOU Assignment Status 2023 (UPDATED)
- IGNOU Project 2023 (Online Submission)
Through Offline Mode
This is the usual way through which the students usually submit the assignments. The students have to finish answering the questions of the assignments and then submit them to the study center. While preparing the assignments, you should make sure that the very first page of the assignment should have all the necessary details.
- The name of the student
- Enrolment number
- Program and Code code
- Name, Code, and address of the study center where you are submitting the assignment
- Mobile number and email address of the student
- IGNOU Assignment Front Page (PDF)
- IGNOU Study Centre List
If you are submitting the assignments directly through offline mode, the person at the study center will offer you a receipt that you need to keep safe till the result is not declared.
Through Online Mode
For students who are not able to visit the study center to submit the assignments can also submit them online now by following any of these two methods. It is noted that both of the methods are subject to availability at the respective regional centre.
Google Form
The very first method is that of Google Forms. The students can visit the respective regional portals of IGNOU and then submit the assignments. You can follow the below steps for the successful submission of assignments through Google Form.

Step – 1 – First of all, have a look on the list of IGNOU Regional Centres at the Official Website of IGNOU and go to your RC website.
Step – 2 – On the homepage of RC’s official page, go to the section of News and Events.
Step – 3 – You should get the option of Assignment Guidelines or Assignment Submission on which you have to click.
Step – 4 – As you click on the link, the Google form will get open in the browser.
Step – 5 – Now now start filling the form with proper details such as your name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.
Step – 6 – Carefully upload the scanned copy of your assignment and submit the form.
Instructions to Follow
While you are submitting the assignments through Google Form, make sure that you follow these important instructions.
- You have to fill a new form for each subject.
- Make sure that you are uploading the assignment files correctly.
- You need to scan the handwritten copies of the assignments and upload them.
- The scanned copy of assignments should not be more than 100MB.
- You should only submit the PDF format of the scanned copy.
- Though you will be entering the basic details in the Google Form, it is also a great idea to mention the same details on your assignment copy also.
- The option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms will be available only when the quota of email submission is over.
Through Email Address
Though IGNOU has started the option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms, it will be not available in all the regional centers. The option of Google Forms will be only applicable if the email quota of a regional center is over and they are not more able to receive assignment emails from the students.
Here is the method that you need to follow to submit your assignments through email.
Step – 1 – Mention all the important details on the front page of your assignment that you would do in the case of offline submissions such as name, subject name and code, program and course code, study center name and code, contact details, and others.
Step – 2 – Scan your handwritten assignment copy and get it in PDF format. Each subject assignment should be in each PDF copy.
Step – 3 – Find out the email address of your regional center from Google in the same way how you search for the regional center portal link.
Step – 4 – In the body of the email, provide all the details in a listicle format that you have mentioned on the front page of your assignments.
Step – 5 – Now attach the PDF formats of your assignments and send the email to the respective regional center email address.
After you have sent the email, you should receive an acknowledgment. It may take a few hours to get this acknowledgment email. But if you have still not received it, you should check whether the regional portal has shared the link for Google Forms or not and should upload the assignments there too.
It is also noted that the many of the regional centre of IGNOU is not sending any confirmation or acknowledgment after the submission of IGNOU Assignments so you don’t need to worry about it instead of keep checking the status of your assignments to get the result.

How To Submit IGNOU Assignment (Online And Offline Process)

If you are new to IGNOU University, it can be very confusing that how to submit IGNOU Assignment after writing and preparing the assignment file . So Don’t worry; we’re here to help you. After reading this post, you will not doubt the IGNOU assignment submission process. This blog post will provide a step-by-step guide on how you can submit them correctly in different ways .
Where & How To submit The IGNOU Assignment
There are multiple ways to submit the IGNOU Assignments. You can submit your assignments offline by visiting your study centre, or you can also submit online(Only if Regional Center Allows Online Mode) by google form or via email provided by the regional centre. Here we will share all the ways in detail.
Note:-The student has to submit the assignments only through one medium, the online assignment portal or as a hard copy at his study centre.
Offline Process
The primary and general way to submit the ignou assignment is the offline mode . In this mode, you will have to visit your study centre, and you can give them directly. You can find your study centre address on your IGNOU ID Card and also on your registration portal . After giving your assignments, don’t forget to take the submission slip for future reference.
How To Submit assignment through Courier if the study center is far from you
If you are far from your study centre, you should contact them via their email or contact number. They will provide the proper instructions to post the assignments at their office address. Few study centres allow you to post the assignments through any courier service if you are not present in the current address of your study center. This is how you can submit your assignments via any courier service but always remember this facility provides only a few study centres; not all of them.
Online Process
Due to the pandemic, a few regional centres of IGNOU have started the online submission of IGNOU assignments. If students cannot visit the study centre, they can use the online mode via google form and email address. Here is the complete step-by-step process to submit in online mode.
- Visit Your IGNOU regional Center Official website
- Go To the News and Announcement Section
- Here You will find The Notification about assignment Submission
- Simply Click on it, here you will get email or google form link to upload the assignments with all the instruction
Note:-If you Are Not getting The Link in News Or Announcement Section, then your Regional Center is Not accepting The assignments online. You’ll Have to Submit a physical hard copy to your study centre.

Via Google Form
If you get the notification to submit the assignments via a google form, follow these steps.
- Open Google Form By clicking on it
- Login into Google Form using Your id password
- On the top of the Google Form, You Will get the Name of Your Regional Center and Instruction To Upload the PDF File same as Below Image
- Follow The Instructions And Upload Your Assignments Properly
Via Email Address
If You Get An Option To Submit The Assignments Via Email, Then Follow These Steps
- First Of all, write down the Email Address where You Have to send the Assignments file
- Login into Your Email Account
- Compose your Email and fill in all your details, e.g. name, enrollment number, programme study centre code, etc
- Upload all the handwritten scanned pdf at once
Instructions To Follow Before Submitting The Assignments in Online Mode
Each Regional centre Has Individual Instructions for submission, follow them carefully to avoid rejection of Assignment. Here we are sharing the general instructions which are applicable on all regional center
- Only handwritten Assignments are accepted. (Type/Computer prepare Assignment are not Allowed)
- The Scanned assignments PDF must be clearly visible. If the assignments of a student cannot be read/seen, then his assignments will be rejected without any notice, which will be the responsible by the student himself.
- The maximum size of the PDF file of the assignment should not exceed 100 MB
- Attach Front Page , Question Paper In each Assignment
- Named The PDF File According To Your Regional Center Instructions
- Don’t Re-submit The Assignments
- If you submit a hard copy to your study centre, then don’t submit via online mode
- If a student is unable to submit the assignment online, they can submit their assignment in hard copy at their Study Center.
- Enter your personal mail ID at the time of the assignment submission.
- On The Assignment Submission Portal, Submit Only Assignments Don’t submit Projects, Synopsis etc.
- PDF password or Access Permission should not be there, if PDF password or Access Permission is applied for any Assignment PDF, they will be rejected without notice, which will be the self-responsible student.
Know How many Times You Have To Submit The Assignments in A Year
There are two types of programs at IGNOU University, semester-based and year-based. If you appear in exams twice a year, like for BCA, MCA, and MBA,B.com,M.com programs, then you are in a semester-based program. And If you appear in exams only once a year, like BA, B.Com, M.Com, B.Sc, and M.Sc programs, then you are in a year-based program. So if your programme is year-based, you have to submit assignments once a year, and if your programme is sem-based, you have to submit twice a year. You need to log in to your admission portal to know whether your programme is year-wise or sem-wise. you can also check this list to know.
When to Submit IGNOU Assignment
Same as Programme, there are two cycles/sessions at IGNOU University. One is from January to June(called the January session), and the other is from July to December(called the July session), so if you have been admitted, in the January session and Your course is semester-wise, so you will have to submit the Assignments in March. And if your course is yearly-wise and you have taken admission in Jan, so you have to submit the assignments in September.
Same as Above, if you took admission in July and your programme is sem-based, then you need to submit in September, and for the year-based programme, you have to submit in next year March

IGNOU Assignment submission for TEE June 2023 session will start from March onwards for ALL programmes of ODL and Online mode . All Master, Bachelor, PG Diploma (PGD), Diploma, Certificate Student who has taken Admission / RR in July 2022 Session or prior is eligible to submit assignment for June 2023 Session*. Certificate and semester based programme students of Admission session January 2023 are also eligible for assignment submission under TEE June 2023 session. How to submit IGNOU Assignment ?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The deadlines and last date for assignment submission vary from Programme to programme. For some programme last date of asssignment response submission is 31st march and for some progrmme it is 30th April which can be confirmed from the instruction given on the assignment question papers.

Useful date for Programme specific IGNOU Assignment June 2023
Assignment should be submitted at your allocated IGNOU study centre only. For any extension in IGNOU assignment submission last date, please keep checking website. For detail guidelines about the formulation of assignment watch video below.
What is Assignment Submission Deadlines in IGNOU ?
As per University Calendar Assignment submission is done twice every year
- For TEE June Cycle / Session : In this cycle Assignment submission starts from 1st March and ends on 31 March but in some case (like when admission for January Cycle is delayed ) the University extends the last date for assignment submission like for TEE June 2022 session it was extended upto 20th July 2022 and
- For TEE Dec Cycle/ Session : In this cycle Assignment submission start from 1st September and ends on 30th September but in some case (like when admission for July Cycle is delayed) the University extends the last date for assignment submission.
Explained with Example
1. For Student of Year based UG, PG, PG Diploma or Diploma programme
Any student who got admitted in Jan 2022 Admission Cycle and his/her programme is Year based (Eg : MEG, MPS, MCOM, MPA etc) such learner is supposed to submit 1st Year assignment between 1 - 30th Sep 2021 and this session is considered as TEE DEC 2022 SESSION . For any extension in submission date for that session may be checked on the website. Failing in assignment submission for TEE DEC 2022 SESSION, then leaner can submit the assignment in the next coming cycle.
2. For Student of Semester based UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma and Certificate programme
Any student who got admitted in Jan 2022 Admission Cycle and his/her programme is Semester based (Eg: BCA, MCA, MP, PGCCL etc) such learner is supposed to submit 1st Semester assignment between 1 - 30th March 2021 and this session is considered as TEE JUNE 2022 SESSION .For any extension in submission date for that session may be checked on the website. Failing in assignment submission for TEE JUNE 2022 SESSION, then leaner can submit the assignment in the next coming cycle.
Note : Assignment Question paper can be downloaded from University Website. Before writing assignment answers check the validity of Assignment question paper which is written on the Assignment Question paper itself. Student who could submit assignment then they need to download fresh Assignment Question paper from website.

Can I Download IGNOU Assignment Question Papers online ?
Yes, IGNOU Assingment Question papers are made available on the website in each session of admission. It can be easily downloaded from the IGNOU Website.

Once a learner submitted the assignment, never forget to check the assignment submission status on the website after few weeks.
Generally Once the assignment submission date is over, Study Center takes necessary steps to get the assignment evaluated and is sent to the approved evaluator / Academic Counsellor of IGNOU for evaluation . Later when Evaluator completes the evaluation and tabulation of marks course wise then it submitted to the Study Center Co-ordinator. Later it is uploaded on the University website.
How can I Check my IGNOU assignment submission status ?
The status of assignment submitted for TEE June Cycle/Session starts reflecting on the website from June/July month
Similarly the status of assignment submitted for TEE December Cycle/Session starts reflecting on the website from December/January month.
After the transmission of assignment data from study center or regioanl center finally after few days/weeks assignment marks is updated in the Grade Card.
How to resolve Discrepancy in IGNOU assignment submission status ?
Any discrepancy in your assignment submission status, you may bring to the notice of Co-ordinator OR functionaries of study center for immediate resolution. If any discrepancy found : Student need not to be panic. They should contact Study Center Co-ordinator in the Month of
- August/ September for assignment submitted for June Cycle/ Session.
- Feb/ March for assignment submitted for Dec Cycle/ Session.
